Poor little Brit. I thought he was sick last week…but apparently not. Now he really is sick with a cough, congestion and a slight fever at night that came on suddenly Tuesday. He hasn’t been able to sleep very well and just wants to be held. He’s such a sweetheart and I feel so badly for him that I haven’t really minded being up 6-7 times at night like I usually would. I’m hoping he gets better soon because as everyone who’s been sick before knows, it’s no fun!

Last night he was so tired he fell asleep at the table while eating his dinner. I ran to get the camera, but he woke up before I could take a picture…bummer! Also this week he’s made as slight step toward walking. He doesn’t insist on holding both of our hands before he’ll walk around, he simply prefers it. As of Sunday it was 2 hands or nothing. He’d actually sit down if we attempted to make him walk holding just one. Then came Monday morning and it was ok to have just one, but sometimes it’s still scary, so be there just in case. Silly baby. He really is pretty cautious about some things. Others–he’ll go right for it.

This morning he said bye bye. I think we might count it as his first word. Mama has been said for a while, and he knows it’s me, but I’m not convinced all the time. But, today Mark was leaving and waved as he said “bye bye” and Brit looked at him, gave his arm wave and said “ba ba.” We looked at each other in amazement, and then Mark said it again to test him. Again, Brit said “ba, by.” Cool! Now we just have to wait and see if he’ll ever say it again.

And, those of you who read Mark’s comments on Facebook or Twitter will know this already, but I’m super excited to announce….we have a dishwasher!

We used money given to us for Christmas and bought a countertop model. It’s not as convenient or cool as a normal one would be, but so far we’re loving the face that we don’t have to wash silverware, bowls and glasses anymore! It came in a really big box, so Mark and Brit had fun with it.

We also have a little musician He loves Guitar Hero drums, Mark’s keyboard and the guitars. Dancing to any music is now one of his favorite activities.
