About

We’ve been married two years already! So, I thought we might as well up date the about us page.
Our Family: We are currently living in Los Angeles. Mark has worked at Napster for nearly two years as a “web integrator.” He loves the combination of working with music and the Web. I’m not working (outside the home) for the first time in about 11 years. But, I’m keeping plenty busy with our little Britton.
We love traveling and exploring new places, Mexican food, taking Sunday drives, spending time with friends, eating out at new restaurants and our number one love is playing with Britton.
Kirsten:
I was born in Bountiful, Utah. I have a large extended family and we are very close. I am the 2nd oldest grandchild (and first girl) on both sides of my family. I’ve lived in several places within Utah, including Bountiful, Fruit Heights, Orem, Highland and Cedar City.
My favorite color is green and I love Mexican food. Cafe Rio is the best place ever–sorry to all of you who don’t live in Utah and don’t get to enjoy this wonderful place.
I always loved school and got good grades. I love learning new things. Maybe that is why reading has always been one of my favorite things to do. I also love to travel–the world is so big and there is so much to see and do. When I was younger I entertained thoughts of being an actress and participated in drama for several years. My senior year of high school I was on Student Council which I had a lot of fun with. I went to college at Southern Utah University and majored in Communications, emphasizing in Broadcasting and Journalism–I worked for the school paper, the University Journal, all 3 of my years there.
During the 2002 Winter Olympic Games I had the amazing opportunity to work on the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as a script supervisor. It was a great experience being able to work with all of those talented and creative people.
After graduation from college, I moved to Maryland and became a nanny during the week and worked for a TV news station on the weekends as a news writer. After about a year, I took a job at a government program called Take Pride in America. There I did communications and developed new program materials for them. I loved working there, but I decided that I needed to move to California because I was dating Mark. So I left….and moved across the country to Los Angeles.
When it is warm, I love to be outside doing whatever. I also recently discovered Yoga mixed with martial arts, Going to movies, traveling and visiting historical places are a few of my favorite things.Mark
I was born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I have 3 older half siblings (Lori, Doug and Paul) and one younger sister (Sara). My family is scattered around the country, with only my mom and sister living in Maryland. My other brothers and sister live in Texas.
I have been interested in music and computers since I was very young. My dad is a scientist, so he had me banging around on his computer keyboard before I could talk. I attribute my love for electronic music to listening to “Little Thinker” tapes, that had electronic sounding music in the background, when I was a child.
While in high school I played ice hockey. I really enjoyed it, and am kind of sad I don’t get to play anymore.
I went on a mission to Ogden, Utah. I had a great time there. People often say “Ogden? I’m sorry.” But, it was a great mission. The members are generous and we had lots of perks. Plus, we had a lot of baptisms because of member help.
Before I left on my mission I attended University of Maryland and studied computer science. When I got back my goals had changed and I worked for a friend of mine as a computer programmer for a couple of years. I liked it, but didn’t want to do that forever, so I decided to go to school for Web design. I had done some Web sites for a few clients and wanted to learn more. I got a degree from The Art Institute in Santa Monica and had a great experience. I learned a lot and really enjoy designing and building Web sites.
After college I got a job at a Web company in Culver City, but i currently work for Napster. I have a few freelance clients I do Web sites for as well.
I also enjoy learning about new technology, taking long drives to new places, going to concerts and hanging out with friends. If you’ve made it this far and want to read more, you can learn about how we met and our engagement.
